RANDOM THOUGHTS

5/6/08- Spending a week in Vegas may sound like a lot of fun, but I must say I am so happy to be home. Nothing good can come from being there that long. There are far to many ways to spend lots and lots of money. Unfortunately, my Vegas activities will have to stay in Vegas. I was there working for DVS, shooting photos of Carey Hart. I went everywhere possible with him to get photos of his new DVS Hart signature line. By the time we got everything done, I was wiped out and thought it would be amazing to watch a supercross for once. I had totally forgotten what it was like to be a spectator at an event. Look for new freestyle photos this week.

4/22/08- I was hoping to be able to put together a gallery of photos from our Baja trip, but it turns out a certain moto mag will be running a story on it. I need to keep the photos under wraps for now. I even had to pull some of the teaser shots down. Sorry about that everyone. I will post them as soon as I get the OK to.

Today, I am shooting Twitch in his new signature Mulisha clothing line. Be sure to buy lots of it when it hits stores. Next week, I am going to Vegas with DVS Dano, yeaaaaa brooooooooo!, to shoot photos of Carey Hart at his new moto facility. If I am lucky, I might get to turn some laps on the track when the shoot is done.

4/21/08- Here they are, what you have all been waiting for...photos from the Navy MotoX World Championship. I think this is the longest it has ever taken me to get photos up from an event. It isn't all entirely my fault. I had to work for clients on Monday, Leave for Mexico Tuesday, then recover till Sunday. Haha. Click the image on the right to view all the photos.

4/18/08- I have a lot of respect for the riders/drivers of the Baja 500 and 1000. I never knew what went into competing in it and how hard it is on your body. Our get away ride/photo shoot was a little over 300 miles and I feel like I was beat up by 10 people. It was unlike anything I had ever done on a dirt bike before. Riding 4th gear wide open a YZ450 down the beaches of Baja was amazing. Everyone had a great time, and the best part is that no one got arrested! The only bad part was that I now have over 3,000 photos to go through. Wish me luck. Here are a few sneak peaks at the ride.

4/15/08- As much fun as the Navy MotoX World Championship's were, I am really glad they are over. I run around like a mad man at these kind of events, trying to get shots of everything possible. Mix that in with 90 degree temps. and power hungry security guards, and you have borderline heart attack stress levels. I thought I was going to get to unwind after five, twelve-hour days of shooting, but now I have to go to Mexico for three days to document a Metal Mulisha baja ride. Sounds like fun, right? The bad news is that I won't have time to go through all 2,400 photos until I get back late Thursday night. I will be cut off from the world until then. For now, here are a few photos to hold you over till I return. If that isn't good enough for you, check out my work on EXPN.com. There are event recaps, blog's, galleries, and videos.

4/9/08- I stopped by Qualcomm Stadium today to check out the course layout for the Navy MotoX Championships. There was supercross practice early in the morning, followed by a quick FMX and Speed and Style practice. Not everything is completed yet. They still need to build the whoops and set up the rest of the FMX ramps. Here are a few preview photos. Check back through out the weekend for updates and for up to the minute coverage, stop by expn.com.

4/1/08- My quick stay at Mason's house is just about over. I am heading to the airport in a hour to head back to Temecula. It was nice to get out of the SoCal/BroCal scene and shoot at a different spot. Thanks Did. I would be staying here longer, but tomorrow Mason is going to Pablo Escobar's home country, Columbia, to do a show. A special thanks to Philly (Mason's mom) for all the great home cooking, especially the buffalo chicken strips. Click the image on the right to view the photos.

3/30/08- I got back to CA from NJ for 2 days and thought I was going to have some time to relax. Boy was I wrong. I got a phone call from Mike Mason's to head to the airport because he got me a plane ticket to come to his house. So here I am, writing this update from Carson City, Nevada. Stay tuned for photos from the NV/HC Compound. I did manage to get some photos of the Mulisha guys during my short stay in CA. Click the image on the right to view them.

3/17/08- It is time to play catch up, since I have been MIA for the past 10 days. Right after the last photo update, I flew to the Lake Whitney amateur national to shoot photos of the Red Bull Jams team. From there, I flew back to CA for 12 hours, packed some fresh clothes and got on a plane to Minneapolis for SX. Now I am back home in NJ for ten days. It is great to finally have a short break.

Now, onto the stuff you all really care about, Minneapolis SX photos. Chad Reed's string of bad luck continued. The birthday boy, who was sick as a dog, got a bad start in the main, fought his way into second behind Josh Hill. It looked as if Reed was going to get a birthday victory, but went down at the end of the whoop section. He would have to settle for 7th, losing more valuable points to Kevin Windham. 450 class rookie, Josh Hill, made an early pass on Ryan Dungey for the lead and never looked back. Ryan Dungey put in an amazing ride to finish second, followed by Kevin Windham.

The Lites class show cased a battle that will be one for the ages. Josh Grant and Ryan Villopoto battled for 14.95 laps, before Villopoto made the final pass for the win. The final section of track featured an off-camber turn that sent the riders into a step on, step off jump. Villopoto had the inside line, and Grant was on the outside. Grant attempted to square off the corner to cut underneath Villopoto. In doing so, Villopoto nearly landed on his head, forcing Grant to lay the bike over in the air. Martin Davalos finished third, followed by series points leader, Trey Canard.

3/7/08- It is time to get excited people. Here is your first FMX update of March. Ok, so maybe it isn't that exciting, but there still are some pretty cool photos in the gallery. I combined photos from 2 different sessions to make it. Click the image on the right to view the photos.

Be sure to tune into Fox Sports Network tonight at 11pm PST for the Best Damn Sports Show. The crew stopped by the Mulisha compound on Wednesday and they will be featuring the bad boys of FMX on the show tonight. For photos of the behind the scenes action, check out Metal Mulisha.com.
